Railway Infrastructure Repair and Maintenance Company LLC in Krakow takes a leading position in the field of construction, repair and modernization of railway surface and engineering facilities.

The company has many years of experience in railway construction and bridge construction. Through careful and timely implementation of the entrusted tasks, it significantly contributes to the development and improvement of the condition of railway infrastructure in Poland.

The priority of PNUIK Sp. z o. o. is to constantly improve the quality of services provided through the use of the latest technologies, modernization of the machine park (purchase of new machines for track and construction works as well as vehicles for wheeled transport).

The main goal of the company is to meet the needs and requirements of customers while maintaining competitive prices. The company is constantly expanding the range of services and the area of ​​its activity. In 2018, PNUIK Sp. z o. o. successfully entered the market of energy and traction services on the railway network.

Thanks to many years of experience and qualified staff, the company is doing well on the market, implementing the most important investment projects.

PKP Mechanized Road Works Department in Krakow was established in October 1954 as a unit located within the structures of the Krakow (later South) Regional State Railways Directorate. The branch performed repairs of tracks and subgrade, and then also turnouts, also using high-performance equipment and machines produced by both domestic and renowned foreign companies: Matisa (Switzerland) and Plaser & Theurer (Austria). Already in the 1970s, the then DOM consisted of three Trains of Mechanized Surface Works, the Assembly and Disassembly Base in Dębica and the Machine and Equipment Base in Krakow.

On October 1, 1974, the PKP Mechanized Road Works Division was established in Sucha Beskidzka, whose main task was to perform major repairs of engineering structures and track bed. Three executive units operated in the area of ​​the Branch, ie the Management of Capital Repairs and Engineering Structures and Podtorze: Sucha Beskidzka, Tarnów and Rzeszów. Additionally, in 1976 the Machine and Equipment Base was established in Sucha Beskidzka.

On April 1, 1984, the Department was transformed into the Department of Mechanized Engineering Works and Subgrade. The number of executive units increased and three Mechanized Engineering Works Trains in Bochnia, Przeworsk and Sucha Beskidzka and three Mechanized Track Works Trains in Tarnów, Kraków and Łańcut as well as a Mechanized Train for Repair of Machines and Equipment in Sucha Beskidzka were built.

As a result of organizational changes in the road service of the Polish State Railways, on January 1, 1995, a Bridge Branch was established with its seat in Sucha Beskidzka. The main task of the Branch was to administer and maintain railway engineering facilities in constant technical efficiency.

For the implementation of the tasks specified in the framework Organizational Regulations of the Bridge Branch in the entire area of ​​the Southern Regional Directorate of State Railways, 6 Engineering Facilities Maintenance Sections were established in: Sucha Beskidzka, Bochnia, Kraków-Prokocim, Przeworsk, Zagórze and Nowy Sącz; Section for Mechanized Maintenance of Engineering Facilities in Sucha Beskidzka and Section for Diagnostics and Supervision of Engineering Facilities in Kraków-Prokocim.

On April 1, 1996, Dębica became the seat of the enterprise.

As a result of the progressive reorganization of the Polish State Railways (PKP), on July 1, 1998, the Infrastructure Repair Plant in Dębica was established, which included the following executive units:

  1. Mechanized Surface Works Section based in Tarnów,

  2. Section of Mechanized Maintenance Works based in Dębica

  3. Section of Mechanized Crossover Works based in Dębica,

  4. Surface Base in Dębica,

  5. Machine and Equipment Base in Krakow.

As a result of further reorganization of PKP, on 1 July 1998, the Mostowy Department was transformed into Zakład Mostowy with its seat in Sucha Beskidzka. On October 1, 2001, PKP S.A. Infrastructure Repairs Plant in Dębica and PKP S.A. Zakład Mostowy in Sucha Beskidzka merged into a single company with its seat in Kraków at ul. Prokocimska 4, under the name of Przedsiębiorstwo Repair i U Maintania Infrastruktury Kolejowej in Kraków Spółka z o.o.
